What's included

A cardboard service sized to your operation

Tell us how much cardboard you produce, whether it's already baled, and what access the site has. Cardboard is bulky, so the biggest factor in cost is how much air you're paying to move — the more it's compacted or baled before collection, the fewer vehicle movements it takes and the better the return.

Baled cardboard collection

We collect part and full loads of any size. Bales are brought to our Erith depot, checked and graded, and sold on to UK and export mills.

Loose cardboard collection

For loose cardboard produced in volume we supply stillages and wheelie bins for smaller flows, open-top roll-on/off bins for larger ones, and compaction units and containers for the biggest producers.

Vehicle sizing & site access

A large, modern fleet lets us match the vehicle to your site and any local road restrictions — a rigid for tight yards or restricted roads, an artic where there's room and volume to justify it.

Compaction

Open-top roll-on/off containers run from 20 to 60 cubic yard. For the highest-volume sites, a compactor with a 35 or 40 cubic yard compaction container typically achieves around a 3:1 reduction.

Bulking & scheduling

Distribution centres and supermarkets with a steady daily output are collected to a set schedule. Sites with a more variable flow — garden centres through the spring, factories around a production run — are collected on call-off, or on a schedule we review as the pattern changes. Smaller producers are added to an existing round in the area, so a part-full container still gets swapped without a costly dedicated trip.

What to expect

We aim to reply to quote requests the same working day. Clean, dry, well-baled old corrugated cardboard is worth the most and earns a rebate; wet, waxed or heavily mixed cardboard is worth less and may attract a charge. Every collection runs under our Waste Carrier Licence with full transfer documentation, and we hold to a zero-to-landfill approach wherever possible.

Common questions

What if I only produce a small volume?

We take part loads of any size and collect loose cardboard from sites that fill nothing more than a couple of stillages a week. Low-volume addresses go onto an existing local round. You're also welcome to deliver baled cardboard direct to our Erith depot — call ahead, as yard access is tight for larger vehicles.

Should I bale it first?

If you produce cardboard in any real quantity, yes — baling cuts transport cost and improves the rebate. We can advise on buying, renting or leasing an electro-hydraulic baling press, horizontal or vertical, through one of our partners; the larger machines produce a mill-sized bale of 400kg or more.

My yard has restricted access — is that a problem?

Usually not. Tell us about width limits, weight limits, low bridges or timed road restrictions and we'll match a vehicle that can work with them, rather than turning up with the wrong truck.

What can't you take?

No hazardous or liquid waste under any circumstances. Cardboard contaminated with polystyrene, plastic film or food is best kept separate — we can set up a general waste container alongside for that.
