What's included
A general waste service that sits alongside your recycling
Our General Waste Recycling service sits alongside our core paper and plastics business, with the same account manager and the same standards of compliance, service and cost control our customers already expect from us.
Containers to suit the site
We supply skips or open-top roll-on/off containers for general waste, and for loading-dock or distribution-centre sites a compactor and compaction container sized to your throughput.
Collection
Full containers are collected on a schedule or on call-off and taken to one of our licensed partners.
Sorted for recycling
At our licensed partner's facility the load is picked over: paper, card, plastic, metal and other recoverable material is pulled out and sorted for recycling.
Energy from what's left
What genuinely can't be recycled is shredded and processed into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and sent to an Energy from Waste (EfW) plant or a Combined Heat & Power (CHP) facility, where it's converted into energy for the National Grid rather than sent to landfill.
Zero to landfill
Whatever we collect, we hold to a zero-to-landfill approach.

General waste is a disposal cost rather than a material we buy, so the more paper, card and plastic you separate at source, the smaller and less frequent your general waste collection needs to be. We'll look at your waste as a whole and tell you where that's worth doing.

What to expect
We aim to reply to quote requests the same working day. Because general waste is a disposal cost rather than a material we buy, the way to keep it down is to divert as much as possible into the clean streams — the more paper, card and plastic you separate at source, the smaller and less frequent your general waste collection needs to be. We'll look at your waste as a whole and tell you where that's worth doing. Every collection runs under our Waste Carrier Licence with full transfer documentation.
FAQ
Common questions
What if I only produce a small volume?
A single skip on call-off is fine. Smaller sites are collected as needed rather than on a fixed rota, so you're not paying for empty runs.
Do you really divert it from landfill?
We hold to a zero-to-landfill approach. Recoverable material is sorted out at our licensed partner's facility and the remainder is turned into RDF for energy recovery rather than being tipped. Some residues can't always avoid landfill, and we won't claim otherwise.
Can I have one collection day for everything?
Often, yes. Where volumes and site access allow, we can co-ordinate your general waste with your paper, card and plastic collections so you're dealing with one supplier and one set of paperwork.
What can't you take?
No hazardous waste or liquid waste under any circumstances. General waste means non-hazardous mixed commercial waste — not chemicals, oils, clinical or electrical waste, or anything requiring specialist disposal.
