Bulk storage between collections
Open-top containers are used with a hook-lift rigid truck and are typically supplied in 20, 35, 40 or 60 cubic yard sizes. They suit sites that need to store and collect large volumes of paper, cardboard, plastic, metal or general refuse before a scheduled pickup.

Collected by hook-lift truck
A hook-lift rigid truck lifts the full container onto the bed and takes it away, dropping an empty one in its place.

Sites separating materials for recycling often run several containers side by side — one for cardboard, one for metal, one for general waste — so each stream stays clean and keeps its value.
When to step up to a compactor
If a site is filling open-top containers faster than a sensible collection schedule can clear them, a compactor and compaction container will usually cost less to run.
